Tau Henare has made the dumb move of leaking a draft report of the Maori Affairs select committee to the press. The report is apparently very critical of Te Puni Kokiri (the Maori Affairs department).
The report was supposed to be signed off yesterday, but wasn't, as there were not enough members present at the committee meeting to form a quorum. Henare claimed that some of the Labour MPs were showing contempt for the committee by not showing up.
The problem is that it is a breach of parliamentary privilege to leak a draft report before it has been tabled in the House. The chairman, Dave Hereora, has indicated that he will raise a privilege
complaint with the Speaker, who will most likely refer it to the Privileges Committee.warez rpc 3d
