First of all he looks at the definition of divine foreknowledge, and notes the problem caused by fatalism (which in brief says that if God foreknows something then it must happen, therefore there is no human freedom).
Secondly he looks at various ways that Christians have attempted to avoid the conclusion that foreknowledge and freedom and incompatible, which include:
- Denying God's foreknowledge.
- Denying human freedom.
- Denying that future statements are either true or false.
- Claiming that all future statements are false.
- Denying tensed facts.
