Today a British surgeon will perform an operation live on TV on a patient who has been hypnotised, rather than having been given an anaesthetic. The operation is a hernia repair, involving a incision in the groin.
Sounds like fun... I don't think I'll be watching, and will definitely be opting for the drugs rather than hypnosis if I need an operation anytime soon.
