For a few years now my website has been hosted by a company called ReadyHosting. They provide Windows-based hosting for a reasonable price. Up until this year it was fairly useful, as I mainly used it for a simple ASP site. However, late last year they were taken over by another company, and the technical support has gone way downhill. None of the technical support people that I have talked or written to have seemed to know much about what they were doing. In addition, their PHP and Perl support is very out-of-date, making it impossible for me to run other blogging software there.free capture dowland program

When I started Blogging more frequently this year, I started using Google's Blogger tool. While it is generally fairly good, it is missing several important features (particularly categories) that I want to use.free capture dowland program

So, as of now my website is now hosted by a company called Downtown Host, and thus far things have gone very smoothly. I managed to install Moveable Type easily, and import my existing blog (more on why Moveable Type and the import process later).free capture dowland program

In theory all existing posts should still exist in exactly the same location as before, meaning that no incoming links have been broken, but please let me know if any don't work and I'll see what I can do about them.free capture dowland program
