David Farrar is putting together a good examination of all the police and electoral office documents that have been released under the OIA, regarding Labour's pledge cards during the last election, and the subsequent non-prosecution by the police.
One of the more interesting things is that Labour President Mike Williams promised on the 14th of September to the Chief Electoral Officer, to include the cost of the pledge cards in their election return. This was just 3 days before the election. A few weeks later on the 5th of October he wrote again withdrawing his promise.
It seems like Labour decided to lie to prevent the Chief Electoral Officer from publicising this before the election, and then reneged on the promise after the date.download n-gage emu
