Super 14 Final
New Zealand

So the Crusaders have won the Super 14 final. Again (well, sort of). They bet the Hurricanes by 19-12 at Jade Stadium in Christchurch.

But the final was not exactly the best game of rugby to watch - and that's not because I'm a Hurricanes supporter.

There was a huge amount of fog in the stadium, making it impossible to see more than half way across. The commentators found it very difficult (they ended up dispatching someone to the far side of the field to help out). It meant that even though the rugby being played was fairly good, and the tactics adapted well to the situation, it was a very poor game to watch, simply because you couldn't see very much of it.

It does make you wonder if there should be at least some requirements for the conditions in rugby. Or maybe we just need a covered stadium like Melbourne.

But anyway, the win was well-deserved by the Crusaders. They have played very well all season, and deserved the title.

Maybe the Hurricanes can get it next time.
