I really don't see how this is much of a problem though. Lewis points out that the parties to the treaty have changed anyway - in 1947 New Zealand adopted the Statute of Westminster, which made the New Zealand Crown separate from the British Crown (i.e. Queen Elizabeth is Queen of New Zealand, a distinct title from Queen of the United Kingdom).
Even if that is an issue though, the matter is still not a problem. If New Zealand were to become a republic then at some stage Parliament would have to pass legislation to give effect to that. That legislation could easily state that the duties of the Crown under the treaty become the duties of the New Zealand Head of State.
It really isn't a problem at all. There may be other problems with New Zealand becoming a republic, but this is not one of them.[pP]>super dvdripper license key
