Joe Lieberman has lost the Democrat primary for one of Connecticut's seats in the US Senate that is up for election in November, losing to Ned Lamont. However, he plans for register for the ballot as an independent tomorrow, creating a three-way race in the main election.
As I mentioned the other day, this will make the election in November very difficult for the Democrats. A split vote seems quite likely, leaving open the possibility that the Republican candidate will win, even thought Connecticut is normally a liberal state.
