Bainimarama as Prime Minister?
International

So much for a quick return to democracy in Fiji. Commodore Frank Bainimarama has reappointed the previous Fijian President (after seizing Presidential powers during the coup), but instead of allowing a real government to be selected and quick elections held, has managed to get himself appointed as Prime Minister.

I guess he wasn't happy with the ceremonial powers of the President, and only some control over his appointed Prime Minister. However, I'm sure that this causes some serious legal problems as well - I don't think that the Fijian President has the power to arbitrarily sack a Prime Minister without a no confidence vote. Mind you, given that Bainimarama has been sacking (or officially putting on indefinite leave) members of the judiciary, it is unlikely that this will ever get ruled on, at least not by an impartial judge.
