After winning the toss and bowling first in the first Chappell-Hadlee Trophy game in Wellington, NZ have dismissed Australia for a miserable 148. The last time Australia had a ODI first innings run rate of less than 3 (total of 150 in a 50 over game) was in the world cup in 1979!
Sure this is a less than full strength Australian side, but still included a number of good batsmen.
Let's hope we don't screw up the run chase.
Update: If NZ wins this series by some miracle, Australia will no longer be the number one ranked one-day side. South Africa is currently only two points behind Australia, and will take the lead if NZ win the series by 2-1 or better.
